Board Meeting

July 14, 2010

 

Call to Order

Chair Mike Bury called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.

Open Forum for Public Comments

Rick Jestus made a request that sometime in the future the board to look into the possibility of treating Algae in the lake.

 

Approval of May 12, 2010 Board Meeting Minutes

A motion was made by Al Beck to approve the June 9, 2010 and July 7, 2010 meeting notes as amended, seconded by Ron Croteau.  Motion passed.

 

Treasurer’s Report

a)       Ron Croteau presented the treasurer’s report and stated that we have $110,266.35 in the account.  Ron needs to check with the bank as PLM’s invoice was for $3,277.00 but the deduction from the account was $3,227.00. 

 

b)      Mike Bury presented an invoice from Lake Restoration for treatment of the 16.7 acres of CLP in the amount of $6,880.20, which was $412.00 per acre.

 

c)       Mike Bury also paid the 2 bills for publications in local papers in the amounts of $73.50 (Forest Lake Times) and $61.50 (Anoka Union) for the upcoming annual meeting.

 

d)      Mike Bury estimated that the bill from PLM for the treatment of EWM will be $13,647.09.

 

 

A motion was made by Al Beck, seconded by Keith VonDeLinde to approve the Treasurer report as submitted.  Motion Passed.

 

A motion was made by Al Beck seconded by Ron Croteau to pay PLM for the CLP treatment of 6,880.20.  Motions Passed.

 

A motion was made by Al Beck, seconded by Keith VonDeLinde to reimburse Mike Bury for the publications of the annual meeting notice of $73.50 and $61.50.  Motions Passed.

 

Old Business

Mike Bury made a motion to accept Arlan Mercil’s letter of intent to run for the CLID board, seconded by Al Beck.  Motion passed.

 

Committee Reports

1)       Administration

 

a)       The committee discussed and made changes to the presentation for the upcoming Annual Meeting to be held July 28, 2010.  Al Beck will send out the revised presentation to the committee members.  Barb Bouljon will make the ballots.  Mike Bury will post the presentation on the web site.  Steve Olson will email the presentation to the CLIA members and Mike Bury will email it to the non CLIA members that he has email addresses for.

 

 

b)      Discussed the need to send out RFP’s (request for proposal) for this years Transect Survey as required by our LVMP.  The person that did the survey last year is not available.  Steve Olson will contact the DNR for a list of names of potential Mike Bury will send out

 

 

2)       Lake Vegetation Plan

 

None.

 

 

3)       Finance / Fundraising

 

Coon Lake Beach residents made a donation of $140.00 to the CLID.

 

 

4)       Communication / Publications

 

Mike Gaynor reported that a sign is being made for the dumpster in Coon Lake Beech to notify people that it is only for lake weeds.

 

New Business

Discussion took place regarding the 2011 Budget.

 

Adjourn

A motion was made to by Al Beck, seconded by Ron Croteau that the meeting be adjourned at 9:10 PM.  Motion passed.

2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm

 

August 11th, September 8th, October 6th, November 10th, December 8th

 

3rd Annual Meeting July 28th (Fourth Wed of the month)
